PartyPoker's Overall Summary: (Score 7.71 out of 10)
PartyPoker is currently the leading poker site with 70,000+ players playing
at peak hours. New features launched on October 8th 2005, such as side
bets and deal making, makes poker that much more interesting than other
sites. If you are new to online poker, then PartyPoker should be the first

a try. They have been up since 2001, and has no reported security problems

PartyPoker's Traffic (10):
Party Poker became the world's largest poker site in traffic by early
2003. Their numbers are growing by the day. At any given time, they can
have over 51,000+ players playing, as you can see in our screenshots below.
PartyPoker's Game Variety (7):
PartyPoker.com offers a variety of poker games such as Omaha, 7 cards
stud, texas hold em, etc. You can play for free or play real money. Each
one has various pot limit and no limit tables for you to play in. Big
Blinds are as low as $0.25. PartyPoker also offers various tournaments
for you to join. Buyin starts at a very friendly $1. The variety of poker
tournament is constantly growing. They offer everything from Speed Poker,
to tournaments with rebuy-in and add-on. PartyPoker.com is also testing
new poker tournaments call shootout. On October 8th 2005, PartyPoker added
Blackjack to their growing list of games. This new game will not add to
their score as it is not a poker related game.
PartyPoker's Rake (5):
PartyPoker's rake highly disfavors the low limit games. The higher limit
games have a more comparably low rake. The rake runs as high as 10% in
$0.50/$1 and $1/$2 games. This holds true also for the tournaments, where
the best value can be found at the higher stakes. $1(20%) fee for the
$5 games and $9(9%) fee for the$100 games.
PartyPoker's Software and Graphics (8):
PartyPoker's software is very user-friendly compare to most of it's competitor.
Majority of the time, it runs very smoothly given that it has over 50,000
players playing at the same time. We have noticed that it lags when you're
playing a huge tournament that has 2000 or more players. With 50,000+
players at any given time, it makes finding a table hard at times. If
you're not quick with the mouse, the table will end up being full before
you have a chance to sit down. Another thing that is annoying is that
they force a small advertisement (usually promoting their other sites)
when you quit the software.Graphic for PartyPoker is very plain and simple.
You get a random character when you sit down, and it's usually the same
character depending if you're male or female, and where you sit at the
table. The bet, call, and fold buttons are a nice size. You wouldn't make
a mistake of calling when you really want to fold. On October 8th 2005,
PartyPoker added Side Bets and Deal Making to their software features.
You can now do a side bet with fellow players on a hand. The deal making
feature allows you to split the pot in a tournament.
PartyPoker's Support (8):
PartyPoker.com's support early on was pretty slow. Nowadays you'll receive
an email response within a few business hours. We tested it out by asking
what is consider a rake hand, and received a full reply hours later. Telephone
Support will get you help even faster. Our call was picked up within a
minute. Only problem is that sometimes you get someone who's English wasn't
their first language, which makes it hard to understand at times.
PartyPoker's Loyalty Bonus (7):
They have various bonus promotions to keep players coming back for more.
Every month partypoker offers a 15%-25% redeposit code. We have seen offers
for $15 bonus on any deposits, which means 30% bonus on a $50 deposit.
Other loyalty program includes a points system where you earn points for
every 20 raked hands, and tournaments that you join. Those points can
be used to redeem PartyPoker gear, or free tournaments that they have
daily. If you tell a friend about partypoker, you get $50 with 1000 points,
while your friend gets $25 on their first deposit. They will need to play
the required number of raked hands, which is 5 times the bonus. In this
case that would be 125 hands which you can easily get after 2 hours or
so, even faster if you play multiple table.
PartyPoker's Deposit & Withdrawal Options (9):
We tested the partypoker deposit methods using eCheck as well as their
Phone Connect Card option. Both options deposited money into our PartyPoker
account within mins. PartyPoker Deposit options: VISA, MasterCard, Diners Club, NETeller,
FirePay, Moneybookers, Western Union, Citadel (US only), eChecks (by iGM-Pay),
FPS-ePassport, Cash Connection Link, and Phone Connect Card.
We tested PartyPoker.com cash out options via Check by Mail. We were pretty
surprised at how fast it arrived. It took 1-2 business days for it to
be approved, then arrived within 5 business days for us. PartyPoker.com Cash out options: NETeller, FPS-ePassport, wire
transfer, check by mail, eChecks (by iGM-Pay), and Moneybookers.
PartyPoker ScreenShots
In this screenshot, you can see a real no limit cash game at work. That's
our own PPG player "MadCool" winning a hand. To the left of
the dealer is the "rake" or the amount ($0.15) that that partypoker
gets for this hand ($4.60 pot).
